Teen shop travel (grades 6-10)
THE CONCEPT
Teen Shop Travel is an awesome way for young teens ready to take charge of their summer fun! It’s for 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th grade boys & girls who want to make a choice in how they spend their camp day. It’s for teen campers who grow on caring and respect, and take pride in the friends they make. Teen Shop Travel is a never-to-be forgotten high adventure in outrageous fun, self-discovery, and friendships you can count on!
LHS TEENS ON THE GO
Three days a week (Mon, Wed, & Fri) campers go on exciting, high adventure trips ! Teens venture out on “don’t want to miss” day trips forming lifelong friendships. Campers find themselves on exciting adventures every day, visiting area beaches, going to sporting events, amusement parks, special events, and more! Trips include favorite Long Island destinations as well as excursions to Manhattan and beyond!
ON – CAMPUS FUN
Two days a week Teens enjoy all the exciting activities our camp offers. Their on- campus days will be bursting with Swing Shot, Rock Climbing, Tennis, Sports, Arts & Crafts, GaGa Ball, Project Adventure, Swimming, Nature, Games, Computers, and special events! Qualified instructors guide Teens in every activity. There is always something for everyone!
SOCIAL & REC TIME
Each day also provides campers with a special time for lively discussions, and even time to relax and just hang out with friends in a guided and supervised setting.
CIT “IT”
When on campus, Teens entering into 9th grade have a special opportunity to volunteer with a Discovery Camp group as a CIT”IT”. These campers get to see what it takes when they return the following summer as CIT’s (Counselors in Training).
CIT “IT” volunteers are always under the care and supervision of experienced Group Leaders and Counselors and are adored by our younger campers. CIT “IT” volunteers return to Teen shop right on time for their morning workshops.
2 GIANT SWIMS
There are 2 big swim periods when teens are on campus! Our Teen Campers will have 2 Daily Swims in one of our 4 outdoor, heated pools. Campers receive a Morning Instructional Swim made up of small group, leveled swimmers. Qualified Red Cross Certified Instructors and counselors facilitate a fun and energetic session to ensure that each camper receives quality instruction. Campers will also enjoy an Afternoon Recreational Swim where they can have more fun with their friends and delight in the diving board and double flume slide!
